‎The Federal Government has summoned the Dangote Group and the oil workers’ union, NUPENG, to an emergency meeting
‎The meeting is set to take place on Monday, in a last-minute effort to avert a nationwide strike.
‎The strike, called by the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, is backed by the Nigeria Labour Congress.
‎NUPENG accused the Dangote Group of anti-union practices and other labour violations.
‎The NLC has already directed its 54 affiliates and 36 state councils to prepare to join the strike, describing the standoff as a fight for the survival of the labour movement and the dignity of Nigerian workers.
‎The planned action has raised fears of fuel scarcity, economic paralysis, and possible social unrest if the issues are not resolved quickly.
‎The Labour Minister is expected to mediate talks as pressure mounts for a compromise to avert disruption.
