The Nigerian Environmental Society (NES) has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental protection while actively collaborating with stakeholders in planning and implementation.
President of NES, Dr Efegbidiki Okobia, made this known on Tuesday at a press briefing ahead of the 34th National Conference and Annual General Meeting of NES, held in Abuja.
He noted that the 40th anniversary of the NES was not just a celebration of longevity but a moment of reflection on achievements, challenges, and renewed commitment to the nation and the global south.
He revealed the role NES had actively played over the past 4 decades in local, national, regional, and international environmental programs
Dr Okobia also called on government authorities to keep engaging with NES as a major partner in environmental planning and implementation.
He further urged the private sector to invest in sustainable practices and support green innovations.
