The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), has called on West African nations to domesticate the ECOWAS Protocol on Corruption
Fagbemi made the call on Tuesday during the Annual General Meeting of the Network of National Anti-Corruption Institutions in West Africa (NACIWA).
The Minister said the move was to ensure that corrupt officials found no safe haven within the subregion.
NACIWA, an anti-corruption network comprises of ECOWAS member countries which promotes regional cooperation in the fight against corruption.
It’s current president is Ola Olukoyede, who also serves as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
