Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has defended teenage winger Lamine Yamal following criticism over his recent performances in the Spanish La Liga.

The 18-year-old struggled in last week’s El Clasico defeat to Real Madrid and has been dealing with a groin injury that has affected his form.
Flick said Yamal remains an important part of the squad and continues to work hard in training as he gradually regains fitness.

The coach also confirmed the return of Robert Lewandowski and Dani Olmo from injury, noting that their presence has improved the team’s intensity in training ahead of their clash with Elche this weekend.
Barcelona will still be without Pedri, Gavi, and Joan Garcia, but the manager expressed confidence in his players’ focus and motivation to bounce back.

Elche, currently in mid-table, will visit the Olympic Stadium aiming to extend their strong start to the season.
