The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to troop welfare
This was made known at the commissioning of a 60-unit Affordable Home Ownership Option for All Soldiers (AHOOAS) Housing Estate and a Post Service Housing Development Limited (PHDL) Shopping Complex in Ibadan.
The projects were unveiled as part of efforts to enhance the living conditions, morale and post-service stability of Army personnel.

He stressed that access to decent and affordable housing remained central to operational effectiveness and long-term welfare.
The Chief of Army Staff further revealed that plans were underway to fast-track home ownership opportunities for Army Warrant Officers as part of broader welfare reforms.
Calling for more collaboration, Lieutenant General Shaibu urged other state governments to support the AHOOAS scheme through land allocation for future phases,
