The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Justice Joseph Oyewole as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
‎The confirmation was granted on Tuesday after the Senate adopted the report of the Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, chaired by Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire (APC, Ondo Central).
‎Justice Oyewole, who currently serves at the Court of Appeal, was nominated by President Bola Tinubu in line with Section 231(2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
‎The presidential request was read at plenary by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and subsequently referred to the Judiciary Committee for screening, which paved the way for his confirmation.
