‎The library, which has a seating capacity of 1,100 students and internet facilities, was completed under the administration of the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Professor Muazu Abubakar, after construction began in 2021.
‎Speaking at the commissioning on Tuesday, the minister, represented by the Vice Chancellor, said the facility was designed to enhance teaching, learning and research within the university and beyond.
‎Professor Abubakar described the library as a major boost to education, noting that his administration prioritised human capacity development to address social and security challenges linked to illiteracy.
‎Also commissioned were a 200-capacity lecture theatre for Agricultural Science and an extension block of the Faculty of Science, both executed under the TETFund 2025/2026 Annual Intervention.
‎The additional projects were inaugurated by the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Arc. Sonny Echono, and the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, Professor Yusufu Ribadu.
