The federal government has called for stronger partnership among stakeholders to empower youths in the agricultural sectors
The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, made the appeal on Tuesday in Abuja at the maiden edition of the National Agribusiness Strategy Youth Dialogue.
Kyari noted the vital role youths could play in advancing climate-resilient and finance-driven agrifood systems, emphasizing that they accounted for more than 70% of the nation’s population.
He described the forum as a call to harness the energy, innovation, and resilience of youths to transform the agricultural sector.
The minister added that there was a need to harness the energy, innovation, and leadership of the youth to drive the transformation of agrifood systems.
The dialogue, themed “Building Climate-Resilient and Finance-Enabled Pathways for Youth in Agrifood Systems in Nigeria”, focused on equipping young people with the tools and opportunities needed to thrive in the agrifood space.
