‎The Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has urged residents, particularly those living in Minna metropolis, to be patient with his administration over the current water shortage in the state.

‎The Governor made the appeal while speaking to journalists at the Council Chamber of Government House, Minna, where he addressed key issues in the state.

‎He explained that the water problem was due to old and damaged infrastructure inherited by his government.

‎According to him, many of the water pipes in the state capital were over 30 to 40 years old, most of which were broken.

‎Governor Bago also noted that ongoing construction projects and the rising population in Minna had added pressure on the water system.

‎He further assured residents that his administration was working on a total renovation of the water system to provide a permanent solution.
