The Federal Airports Authority says foreign Airlines are owing Nigeria over 18 billion Naira.

‎The Managing Director of FAAN, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku revealrd this on Tuesday at the continuation of the House Committee On Finance Financial monitoring with revenue generating agencies, in Abuja.

‎According to her, Quarta Airlines in 2023 was owing 2.7 billion but now owes 1.5 billion naira.

‎She further disclosed that Virgin Atlantic, KLM, Egypt Air, Ethiopian Air, Air France, Turkish Airlines, Africa World Airlines and other airlines together owed the country over 18 billion Naira.

‎Mrs Kuku stated that the balance of December, 2025 was different from that of March, 2026 as some of the operators may have cleared their debts.

‎The Chairman of the committee, Mr. James Faleke, on his part said Nigeria must recover its money because no civilian bought tickets on credit and the airlines had no right to owe the country.
