The Nigeria Police Force says it has successfully repatriated a high-profile fugitive, Dai Qisheng, to China following a landmark operation in collaboration with INTERPOL.
Qisheng is a notorious gang leader wanted in Guizhou Province for orchestrating and leading violent organized crimes. He fled China in 2024 after an arrest warrant was issued and sought refuge in Nigeria.
Interpol operatives in Abuja tracked and apprehended Qisheng on August 8, 2025. He was repatriated to Beijing on August 15 under police-to-police cooperation coordinated by INTERPOL.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, described the operation as a clear demonstration of Nigeria’s commitment to fighting transnational crime and ensuring fugitives do not find safe haven in the country.
Inspector-General of Police Olukayode Egbetokun reaffirmed the Force’s dedication to strengthening international partnerships and intelligence sharing to combat global crime networks.
