‎Chairman of INEC Professor Mahmood Yakubu, disclosed this during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners, RECs, from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, at the commissions headquarters in Abuja

‎According to him, the commission approached the bye-elections, the off-cycle Governorship elections and ultimately the 2027 General Election,
‎
‎He revealed that INEC was bothered with the various interpretations given to the provision of Section 65 of the Electoral Act 2022 on the review of election results.

‎The INEC Chairman also used the opportunity to welcome Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) attending the regular consultative meeting for the first time.

‎The INEC Chairman reminded the RECs that their work did not begin as the general election approached; rather they should make efforts to implement policy and procedural issues already determined by the Commission
