The Federal Government has announced the inaugural African Defence Exhibition, AfriDex 2026, set to hold from the 26th to the 29th of October, 2026.
‎The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle made this announcement during the Press Conference for the forthcoming International Defence Exhibition in Abuja.
‎He said the event marked a step toward positioning the nation as a leading hub for continental and global defence partnership
‎According to him, the maiden edition of the African Defense Exhibition (AfriDex 2026) had been officially unveiled, with the event scheduled to take place in Lagos
‎Dr. Matawalle added that the landmark initiative was jointly organised by the Defence Industry Corporation of Nigeria (DICoN) and its strategic partner, DMG, in partnership with the Ministry of Defence and other major stakeholders within the nation’s defense and security architecture.
‎He noted that by highlighting the country’s growing influence in the regional defense sector, AfriDex 2026 underscored Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening indigenous defense capabilities and promoting industrial growth.
