This was made known in a statement, signed by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, during the weekend
The Federal Government called on all parties involved in the unfolding crisis to exercise maximum restraint and avoid actions that could further inflame hostilities.
It urged stakeholders to prioritize dialogue over conflict and to adhere strictly to set principles of international law.
The statement also highlighted the importance of abiding with the United Nations Charter and the Geneva Conventions, especially with regard to respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the peaceful settlement of disputes.
The Federal Government further declared its solidarity with the international community’s call for calm, maintaining that lasting peace could only be achieved through diplomacy, mutual respect, and faithful adherence to international law.
