The Nigerian Environmental Society (NES) has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental protection while actively collaborating with stakeholders in planning and implementation.
‎President of NES, Dr Efegbidiki Okobia, made this known on Tuesday at a press briefing ahead of the 34th National Conference and Annual General Meeting of NES, held in Abuja.
‎He noted that the 40th anniversary of the NES was not just a celebration of longevity but a moment of reflection on achievements, challenges, and renewed commitment to the nation and the global south.
‎He revealed the role NES had actively played over the past 4 decades in local, national, regional, and international environmental programs
‎Dr Okobia also called on government authorities to keep engaging with NES as a major partner in environmental planning and implementation.
‎He further urged the private sector to invest in sustainable practices and support green innovations.
