The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has reiterated its commitment to push for public support for the implementation of the Federal Government’s tax reforms, scheduled to take effect in January 2026.
The Director General of NOA, Lanre Issa-Onilu, made this commitment when he received members of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, led by its Chairman, Mr Taiwo Oyedele, on a courtesy visit to the NOA in Abuja.
In a statement signed by the Agency’s Director of Communications and Media, Bala Musa, Issa-Onilu said technology had made it easy for mischievous individuals to spread fake news and incorrect narratives about the new tax laws with ease.
He therefore highlighted the essence of sensitising citizens on the benefits of the tax laws to counter the wrong narratives spreading
The Director General of NOA explained that the new Tax Law would be beneficial, as it specifically addressed the issue of double taxation, among other improvements.
He further underscored the NOA’s ability to reach wide audiences across the country with its advocacy and national enlightenment campaigns
