Senate President Godswill Akpabio has commended the Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State, Baba Azare, and his officers for maintaining peace and security in the state.
Senator Akpabio made the remarks while commissioning fully furnished police quarters in Nto Ndang, Obot Akara Local Government Area.
He praised Azare’s leadership and collaboration with other agencies as key to ensuring stability across the state.
He assured security agencies of his continued support, especially regarding their welfare and living conditions, saying nothing is too much for those who protect the people.
The Senate President also revealed that President Bola Tinubu had approved the establishment of a Police College for Cadet officer training, with construction already underway and plans to admit the first set of cadets before the end of the year.
In response, Commissioner Baba Azare thanked Akpabio for his unwavering support, promising to continue working hard to secure the state.
Akpabio also commissioned an ultra-modern market, an ICT center, and classroom blocks in Obot Akara, urging residents to safeguard these projects for sustainable development.
