‎President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his support for a decentralised policing system, complemented by properly regulated forest guards, as a step in confronting terrorism and banditry nationwide.
‎He made this known on Thursday in his New Year message to Nigerians,
‎The President said such a security architecture, anchored on accountability and appropriate safeguards, remained central to restoring peace and stability nationwide.
‎President Tinubu noted that while the path of reform was challenging, economic progress must go hand in hand with security and national stability,
‎He stressed that safeguarding lives and property remained a core responsibility of his administration.
‎The President further reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting the nation’s territorial integrity and ensuring lasting peace.
