‎The United Kingdom has announced new sentencing powers barring criminals from pubs, concerts, sports matches, and other public venues as part of its Plan for Change.

‎Under the reforms, judges will have the authority to impose driving restrictions, travel bans, and restriction zones confining offenders to specific areas to deter reoffending and enhance public safety.

‎Offenders supervised by the Probation Service, including those without known drug habits, will face expanded mandatory drug testing and stricter conditions.

‎Lord Chancellor Shabana Mahmood said these measures were aimed to remind offenders that crime does not pay and reinforce the government’s commitment to keeping Britain safe.

‎The government also plans to expand prison capacity with 14,000 new places by 2028 and boost the Probation Service budget by £700 million, employing new technology to improve supervision.
