Vice President Kashim Shettima has officially returned to Nigeria after representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. During the week-long global summit, Vice President Shettima delivered Nigeria’s national address, strongly advocating for structural reform within the UN Security Council and demanding two permanent seats with veto power for Africa to ensure equitable global governance. Shettima also spearheaded high-level bilateral talks focusing on development financing, technology transfer, regional security, and economic cooperation across West Africa. His return marks the conclusion of diplomatic engagements aimed at positioning Nigeria as a destination for international investment and a leading voice for African sovereignty.
