Joint security forces led by the Nigerian Army successfully rescued 33 abductees in the Tsafe area of Zamfara State. Military intelligence reports indicate that troops and police tactical units intercepted the armed bandits while they were attempting to transport the hostages through rugged forest terrain. Outgunned by military firepower, the abductors abandoned the victims and fled into surrounding bushes.
