The Senate has postponed its two-day National Security Summit initially scheduled for the 12th and 13th of October, 2026, following the fatal crash of the military aircraft in Igbokoda, Ondo State.
Senate Leader and Chairman of the Ad-hoc Committee on the summit, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, who announced the postponement on Tuesday, condoled with President Bola Tinubu, the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigerian Air Force and families of the officers and crew members who died in the crash.
According to him, a new date for the summit would be announced later – even as he urged stakeholders to bear with the Senate during this period of national mourning.
