Operations at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos were temporarily disrupted on Sunday morning following a fire scare. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) quickly responded, deploying its Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service. Preliminary investigations revealed that there was no actual fire; rather, the terminal’s FM-200 fire suppression system was activated, releasing smoke that caused the alarm. Normal operations have since resumed as FAAN investigates what triggered the system.
